UPDATE: #MakeMercyReal Video Contest

March 30, 2020

To accommodate the changes being experienced by students, faculty and staff at Mercy schools due to the pandemic, at this time we are extending the due date for the #MakeMercyReal video contest indefinitely. Here are some things we would like you to know:

  • We will communicate the new due date at least three weeks prior to its arrival.
  • We will communicate information directly with individuals (students, faculty and staff) who have submitted contact information via our interest form.
  • If we make the decision to cancel the 2020 contest, entries that have already been submitted will be retained for the 2021 contest. In addition, seniors who are graduating in 2020, and who complete the interest form prior to graduation, will be allowed to submit a video for the 2021 contest. (We will need a personal email address for graduating seniors since your school address may not be valid in 2021.)

As we make further decisions about the contest, we would also like to hear from you. Do you still plan to participate in the contest this year? Would you prefer to wait and try again next year? Are you working on your video from home? Is your software inaccessible at school? We invite you to share your thoughts here.

In this time when so many things are being canceled, we will do our best to balance the interests of students wanting to participate in the contest with the realities faced by our many schools. As you wait to complete #MakeMercyReal videos, we encourage you to find tangible ways to Make Mercy Real for those whose lives you touch at home and from a distance.
