Sister Marion Lenihan, Age 95

Mid-Atlantic

Thursday, June 25, 2020

A teacher for 13 years in the Brooklyn and Rockville Centre, New York, Dioceses, Sister Marion also ministered as a principal, supervisor of schools and in religious education. After 10 years in sister formation as mistress of postulants, she returned to education.

Her desire to serve continued in retirement as she volunteered at Brookhaven Hospital, Mercy Center in the Bronx and at St. Joseph the Worker in Patchogue, New York, where she ministered for eight years as the director of religious education. She facilitated a prayer group with parishioners from Our Lady of the Snow in Blue Point, New York, which continued to meet with Sister Marion in her years at Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood, New York.

Her motto, “Above all have charity,” inspired her life.
