Sister Mary Laurene Favre, Age 104

Sister Mary Laurene was born in Conway, Arkansas, and entered the Mercy Community in Webster Groves, Missouri, on September 8, 1933. Starting in 1936, Sister Mary Laurene ministered as an elementary school teacher for 42 years at schools in Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Little Rock, Eldorado and Tontitown, Arkansas.

From 1961 to 1963, she supervised the dietary department at Mercy Conference and Retreat Center in St. Louis, Missouri. After returning to Arkansas and to education ministry, she later spent 11 years in the medical records department at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hot Springs.

Sister Mary Laurene had lived at Catherine McAuley Convent in Barling, Arkansas, since 1992. Her ring motto was “All for Jesus through Mary.”
