Sister Mary Lizette Bathe, Age 101

Sister Mary Lizette Bathe entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1950, and professed her perpetual vows on August 16, 1956. Her ring motto was “Nothing Goes Before God.”
Sister Lizette earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Louis University in 1955 and a master’s degree in secondary education from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., in 1966. She had a long ministry in education, teaching at Mercy High School in St. Louis from 1955 to 1968 and then serving as its principal from 1968 to 1973. She later ministered as an educator at St. Joseph High School in Greenville, Mississippi, and at Sacred Heart in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
In addition, Sister Lizette served as provincial secretary to the Sisters of Mercy, as the sponsorship coordinator for Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, and as an assistant archivist for the Sisters of Mercy in St. Louis. Her volunteer ministries included Birthright Counseling of St. Louis and St. Augustine’s Wellston Center in St. Louis.Donate in memory of Sister Mary Lizette Bathe
