Sisters Academy of New Jersey is a program of Mercy Center, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy in Asbury Park, NJ. Sisters Academy is an independent, Catholic middle school for girls from economically challenged families in grades 5-8. The goal of the Academy is to provide students with the tools to gain entrance into and experience success in private high schools in the area. 100% of students graduate from high school.
Sisters Academy is seeking a full-time principal/head of school. The principal is appointed and reports to the executive director of Mercy Center. The principal administers the school and provides leadership and supervision to achieve the goals and objectives of the academy. In collaboration with the faculty and staff, the principal creates and develops programs, curriculum, strategies, and methodologies to empower students to achieve at their highest potential.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as principal/head of school, working with diverse, multicultural populations
- Understanding and care for how the urban child learns.
- Master's Degree in Educational Administration or a similar degree.
- Certification in one of the following: School Administration; Principal/Supervision and/or Chief School Administration
