Cranaleith Spiritual Center is seeking an experienced and respected leader to serve as the Interim Executive Director of the Center beginning on Monday, January 31, 2022 until a new Executive Director is appointed, likely by April 2022.  The Interim Director will report directly to the Chair of the Board.

Mission
Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Cranaleith offers a contemplative space for all those seeking wholeness and transformation for themselves and society.  We are committed to making Cranaleith accessible to all, especially to persons who are poor and those who work in solidarity with them. We seek to invite those at the center of need and those at the center of influence to reflection, reverent dialogue and meaningful partnerships.

Overview
We began our works of mercy in 1998 and have grown over the years into a multidimensional mission of on-site nurturing and virtual outreach. For those who visit us in person, we offer a quiet and contemplative space where one can reconnect with their spirit, creativity, and harmony with nature. We also offer our programs of reflection and spiritual deepening in the digital world for those who cannot join us in person.

The interim executive director will work with the staff and volunteers to sustain a culture reflective of the spirit of mercy: hospitality, respect for the dignity of each person, collaboration, teamwork, inclusivity.  S(he) will ensure that decisions regarding policies, programs, and finances, are aligned with the mission. 

The principal duties and responsibilities of the interim executive director are:

  • Administer the daily operations of the Center 
    • Manage and support the fulltime staff and core volunteers
    • Conduct weekly staff meetings either in person or virtually
    • Manage the budget, approve all purchases and payments
  • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors and the Mercy Ministry Office
  • Participate in ongoing Mercy Network and Retreat Centers Collaborative.
