Current Ministry: Health transport
Motto: All for you my Lord
Wow! 65 years and realizing ever more deeply how wonderful it has really been to be a Sister of Mercy. Here are a few special blessings of my journey. Starting with family, which now numbers 85 people, ages 93 to 2 and counting; friendships in Mercy, starting with my band of 22 sisters who I entered with in 1954; living in at least 12 communities, which was like meeting Mercys by the hundreds; last but not least, the loving and caring people I met in my many ministries; I’m so grateful for these lasting friendships.
Now reconnecting with my Cumberland High classmates of 1954 for monthly lunches, counting our blessings and giving thanks for our memories and the gift of laughter as we share experiences of living life through our 80’s. After being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in December 2013, I read this quote from Maya Angelou: "My mission in life is not to merely survive but to thrive with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style." This quote inspires me and gives new life to my motto: "All for Thee my God".
