Sister Mary Flatley
Entered: September 8, 1959 – Manchester, New Hampshire
Current Ministry: Volunteer, Eucharistic Ministry
Motto: God’s presence always
I worked for the telephone company for several years before entering the Sisters of Mercy. My band became my new family; we were close, caring, loving, and prayerful, and the bond we formed then is richer and deeper today.
My 24 years teaching were years of happiness, growth and spiritual deepening. In time I changed direction. I wanted to take care of our sick sisters and truly loved ministering to them for 20 years. I retired when serious health issues interfered. Since then I’ve had some fulfilling volunteer experiences, such as serving others at the soup kitchen in Manchester, New Hampshire, and later at the Nashua Soup Kitchen.
I feel so blessed to be a Sister of Mercy these 60 years, and pray daily for all of us – worldwide.
