Sister Nancy Audette
Entered: September 8, 1954 – Burlington, Vermont
Current Ministry: Mercy Ecology executive director
Motto: Caritas Christi Urget Nos (The love of Christ compels us)
To say that my years in Mercy have been the best ones of my life would be an understatement, especially since before entering the community I was a teenager and we all know what those years can be like! My first 30 years of ministry were spent in classrooms where I learned and enjoyed so much through interaction with the students. Next 20 years of ministry were spent working with men and women caught in the criminal justice system and especially accompanying women as they resettled in society after serving their time. For the last 15 years I have been involved in ministry to address our critical concern of caring for Earth and living in harmony with all of creation. Each of my ministry years has been enriching and enjoyable. I am grateful for all those opportunities. My community is the whole Mercy World, The friendships, both old and new, near and far, formed during these 65 years, continue to inspire, encourage and support me. I celebrate this jubilee with tremendous gratitude, great joy, and blessed hope.
