Climate Symposium

A former Obama Administration official and several young activists (some pictured above) inspired about 150 people to take action for the climate at a symposium at Mercy by the Sea Spiritual Retreat and Conference Center in Madison, CT, April 27th.

Former Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy told the crowd that addressing climate change is “not a science exercise. It’s a moral obligation.” Young people from Natures Trust Rhode Island, who are suing the state for a livable climate, and from Mercy High School in Middletown, CT, talked about their fears for the future and their generation’s commitment to start reversing climate change.

You may watch highlights from the daylong program organized by CT Earth Mercy Committee and Mercy Ecology Inc. below.
