Gifts of Securities
Giving stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated in value may provide great tax savings by avoiding capital gains tax normally associated with the sale of such securities. Many corporations have matching gift programs for their employees and retirees. Ask your Human Resources office if your company will match your gift to the Sisters of Mercy. Your office will provide you with the appropriate forms to send us along with your gift.
Planned or Legacy Gifts
Planned gifts to the Sisters of Mercy, West Midwest Community, Inc. are usually made in the context of the donor’s estate plans. These gifts include charitable bequests, trusts, insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts, and gift annuities. Donors who make such provisions are recognized as members of the Sisters of Mercy Legacy Society. We encourage you to discuss these options with your attorney, tax professional or financial planner. Please contact us if you have special gift restrictions or questions.
By donating your vehicle to the Sisters of Mercy, you can receive the wholesale value of your vehicle as a tax deduction while avoiding the possibility of receiving a low trade-in value from a dealer, or the anxiety and hassle of selling to a private party. Your vehicle will be picked up free of charge, sold at auction, and the proceeds will benefit the Sisters of Mercy West Midwest Community. Please contact us for more information to donate your vehicle.
