Sister JoCeal Young
Entered: July 15, 1955 - Burlingame, California
Current Ministry: Volunteer
Motto: Whatsoever He shall say to you, do ye
Over the past 60 years, I have been privileged to serve happily in the ministries of education and healthcare. I enjoyed being a teacher and principal, as well as serving as associate superintendent in the Diocese of San Jose. I was drawn to healthcare ministry at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego in 1990 where I served as mission leader and member of Mercy Outreach Surgical Team (MOST).
I feel that I have been closest to the charism of Mercy in my many trips to Mexico with the MOST team and in my current volunteer work with homeless women at Rachel's Women's Center. I am most grateful to the Sisters of Mercy, my family and friends for supporting me in this life of Mercy.
