Mary Ellen Howard, RSM
Entered: September 7, 1960
Current Ministry: Volunteer
Motto: Lord, that I may see.
I entered the Sisters of Mercy after high school, not knowing what I was signing up for, but following God’s call and hoping to making a difference with my life. My ministry was healthcare in Mercy hospitals and at Cabrini Clinic, a free medical clinic for uninsured persons in Detroit. I learned to value both direct service and systemic change. For 60 years, Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy have been my inspiration.
