I grew up in Durango City, Mexico, and at the age of 24 I entered the Sisters of the Cross of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a contemplative congregation. During my time there, I lived in different cities in Mexico as well as three other countries.
I ultimately chose the Sisters of Mercy because I felt called to an apostolic life, and I was attracted to their charism of embodying God’s mercy through the variety of ministries stemming from the works of mercy. I love sharing God’s love and knowledge, particularly through theology and spirituality.
I currently serve as the Parent Outreach Coordinator at Cristo Rey High School in Sacramento, California. In my role there I offer theology, spirituality and human development courses to the parents, and work to build community among them. I also teach Hispanic online theology courses at Dominican University in Chicago, and I offer retreats or spiritual direction as requested.
I love spending extended time in prayer and reflection. Reading the Bible always gives me new insights about God; it helps me to feel united with God and invites me to be committed to my sisters and brothers.
In my leisure time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and watching movies that have a good message for life. I love listening to instrumental music, spiritual songs, cumbias, bachata, merengue and the different musical genres of Mexico. I also like camping and enjoy nature, especially in front of the ocean.
