I grew up in the central part of Kenya. After completing secondary school, I moved to Nairobi, the capital city, where I engaged in various types of work, including managing my sibling’s shop. During this time, I was highly active in the church youth group and held leadership positions at the local church, parish, and deanery levels.
Through these youth activities, I interacted closely with religious men and women. As my childhood desire to dedicate my life to service deepened, I attended several seminars to learn more about different religious congregations.
While searching for the right congregation to serve God, a friend from another religious order referred me to the Sisters of Mercy. I began researching their identity and ministries, primarily through their website. The more I learned, the more I felt deeply attracted to and at home with their mission. For me, God’s mercy is clearly alive in their way of life. I feel deeply called to be a channel of God’s mercy to the world through prayer, community living, and service—especially to the most vulnerable.
Currently, I am in the ministry of education, serving as a teacher at Lodge Secondary School in Guyana. It is a government school that primarily serves students from low-income areas. Beyond passionately guiding them in Mathematics and Information Technology, it brings me immense joy to see these students develop a positive attitude toward education and hard work.
In my free time, I mostly relax by watching the news, entertainment, and inspirational videos, as well as listening to music. Occasionally, I also enjoy reading when I come across an interesting book.
