Age 95
Sister Audrey will be remembered for her warm smile, quiet attentive listening, joyous laugh, love of God, and her grateful heart.
She entered the Sisters of Mercy in Tarrytown, New York, at the age of 19. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social science and a diploma in nursing from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Sister Audrey ministered as a staff nurse, head nurse, director of nursing services, and operating room staff nurse in various locations in New York.
She ministered for many years in the North Country, where she grew up, and lived at Saint Margaret Convent in Lake Placid, New York, with many of her Sisters of Mercy. In retirement, she was very present to her sisters in community, family, and Mercy Care of the Adirondacks staff and volunteers, as well as staff and residents of Elderwood.
Sister continued her responsibilities as sacristan in the chapel, until she became a resident of Elderwood of Uihlein Care Facility.
