Age 84
Sister Mary’s life-long love of elementary education, spanning over 50 years, encompassed teaching and administration in the dioceses of Raleigh, North Carolina and Hialeah, Florida, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As the principal in schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia—including Annunciation BVM in Havertown, St. Matthias in Bala Cynwyd, and St. Alphonsus in Maple Glen—her administrative leadership, as well as her care and enthusiasm for students, families and engagement within her parish community, were hallmarks of her ministry.
Sister Mary was an ardent “Philly sports fan.” She enjoyed gatherings of family and friends, and had a keen awareness of those she loved. She lived life as it presented itself, with thoughtfulness and compassion.
A deeply prayerful woman, you could count on Sister Mary to have a prayer for every gathering of family and friends.
