I grew up in the northern part of Kenya. I lost my mother when I was very young, but I was blessed to have loving and caring family. I spent most of my time with my family, and I was very active in the church. I was a member of the Legion of Mary, and I also helped with Sunday school. My faith and involvement in the church were an important part of my childhood and helped shape my vocation.
I left home when I was still very young to join the Missionaries of Charity, where I spent 18 years serving God and His people,
Over the past few years in my Congregation, I began to sense that God was inviting me to embrace Religious Life within a different charism. Around that time, a friend who knew a Sister of Mercy gave me the address of the Sisters of Mercy. This was a great joy for me because I had been looking for a congregation with a strong commitment to caring for the poor and serving those in need.
I chose to become a Sister of Mercy because I was drawn to their love, their spirit of compassion, and especially the ministry they do in service to others. I felt their charism of caring for those who are poor, vulnerable, and in need was close to my heart.
I currently serve as health care attendant at Mercy Residents Care, a branch of Mercy Hospital. My ministry Involves caring for the elderly residents and assisting them with their daily needs. It is a privilege for me to accompany and care for them, treating each person with dignity, patience and compassion.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, singing and listening to music. I also love praying the Rosary. These activities help me to relax, renew myself and remain closer to God.
My favorite book is the Bible because it is the word of God and gives me guidance, strength and encouragement in my daily life. I also enjoy praise and worship music because it lifts my spirit in praise of God.
